I’m Sevda Livi—born in Baku, raised in Moscow, now based in Austin. As a kid, I had a pretty ambitious bucket list: become a neuropsychiatrist like my grandmother, see the wonders of the world, climb the highest mountain, and get a dog. The result? 46 countries, a 5,670-meter summit, and a dog who’s absolutely convinced she runs the house.


But if you’d told me back then that I’d actually make it happen, I wouldn’t have believed you. Childhood trauma, depression, existential crises—I racked those up as easily as passport stamps. And yet, here I am, 15+ years into a holistic counseling practice, with a knack for spotting the untold stories behind picture-perfect lives. My clients say I help them build lives where well-being doesn’t just drop by like a neighbor borrowing sugar—it moves in and stays for good. Something tells me they mean it.

My search for the deeper laws of well-being has taken me from quiet Himalayan monasteries to top American universities. And everywhere, I found proof of the same simple truth: our well-being is a fragile balance of body, mind, and our connection to the world. This truth is as old as time. Ayurveda, traditional Chinese medicine—they’ve all understood lasting well-being as a balance of life forces. Now, science backs it up: psychoneuroimmunoendocrinology (yes, that’s a real word) shows how our emotions shape our body’s chemistry. The modern world is finally catching up to what ancient wisdom always knew—everything is connected.
