Bridge the gap from living abroad to living your best life.

With 15+ years of international counselling behind me, I blend evidence-based and holistic practices to turn global-life stress into sustainable, culture-attuned thriving that stays with you wherever you go.

When The Move Unfolds
I landed with a suitcase full of optimism and plans. My brain arrived with a folder of habits, attachments, and tiny unresolved shocks. By the time I started posting sunny pictures, my nervous system had already quietly filed a complaint. Paperwork, jet lag, and invisible losses piled up until I was caught between my old identity and my new reality.

The numbers matched that private protest: 77% of location-independent professionals reported burnout; nearly 40% of corporate expats cut assignments short for anxiety or depression; and over half of immigrants report chronic loneliness. I wasn’t alone. In foreign lands we often get stuck in limbo, and the thriving we’d moved for stays stubbornly out of reach.

You only thrive when five essentials are tended: a healthy body, emotions, mind, relationships, and a sense of purpose. Holistic care shows you how to meet those needs reliably so wellbeing travels with you.
Soon after I arrived, life felt unpacked in the wrong order. Nights lost their rhythm. My energy hiccuped. The small rituals that steadied me drifted away like mismatched socks. Friends and the activities that gave my days shape slipped out of the script. The tiny ruptures fed into one another until stress settled into a dull, constant background track and tipped my balance.

I looked for solutions and kept finding tidy, single-track fixes that treat symptoms, not systems. So I created Thrive — a whole-person framework that fuses clinically-informed mind-body work with traditional soul practices to craft tailored care plans. When those plans crystallise into daily habits, wellbeing holds steady and you keep thriving wherever life moves you.

Trauma in Transit
"Trauma is an invisible force that shapes our lives. It determines how we live, love, and understand the world." — Gabor Maté
When we relocate, hidden baggage travels with us. The nervous system loses its anchors — the cadence of our first language, the scent of comfort food, the faces that once meant safe. Some people feel the jolt and rebound; others slide into burnout or depression. Why the split?

New-country stress presses on long-quiet childhood scars: the child who earned love by over-achieving now grinds through fourteen-hour workdays, while the teen who needed constant closeness now dreads every silent weekend. New problems, old roots. Until those roots are tended, culture shock isn’t just fresh stress — it’s yesterday’s pain in a new postcode.
Beyond Quick Fixes
  • Moving abroad isn’t a change of address. It’s more like complex trauma: your nervous system, routines, and relationships all shift at once. Because modern life normalizes poor sleep, low mood, and quick fixes, most people end up unsupported. At best they get fragmented care: relocation coaches, adaptation apps, and influencer tips — useful pieces that don't add up.

Thrive closes that gap with one coherent plan. It sequences trauma-aware inner work, proven body-and-soul practices, and culture-tuned adaptation so each step reinforces the next. The outcome isn’t a spa day. It's portable habits and skills that turn “thriving” from a vacation into daily life.

My Road, Your Map
I’m Sevda Leavy — born in Baku, raised in Moscow, now based in Austin.
As a kid I kept a short wishlist: study the mind like my neuro-psychiatrist grandmother, roam the planet, stand on a very tall mountain, and rescue a dog. Fast-forward: 46 countries, a 5 670 m summit, 15 years in counselling, and a Xolo who’s convinced she owns the lease.

The mileage between passport stamps wasn’t all postcards. Every crossing tugged at half-healed hurts — depression, identity whiplash, the loneliness no expat posts about. Untangling those knots became my life’s work: meditation training in Kathmandu, psychotherapeutic study in St Petersburg, coaching in San Diego, and more — roughly 4,500 training hours across cultures.

Those miles forged a practice that blends hard science with culture-attuned soul work, helping immigrants, expats, and nomads not just arrive but actually thrive. Clients say I help them rewrite the story behind their feeds — my Xolo still claims partial credit.

4 STEPS TO THRIVING

  • ASSESS
Full mind-body audit: mental-wellness screens, lifestyle tracking, and optional labs to map stress patterns, unmet needs, and hidden resources.
  • RESET
Clear the backlog—release stored emotion, curb screen time, cleanse nutrition, dial down major stress triggers, and break looping thoughts & toxic exchanges.
  • BUILD
Craft a holistic care plan, to power sustainable energy and purpose:
    • Body: sleep, movement, and nutrition protocols
    • Mind: resilience, self-regulation, and mindfulness skills
    • Spirit: adaptive self-care, connections & boundaries practice
  • INTEGRATE
Lock it in: build a support net and turn each regimen into micro-habits, so your wellbeing runs on muscle memory—automatic, portable, built to last.
Everything Is Connected
A thriving life rests on three pillars: a healthy mind, a steady body, and the wider world that shapes how we live. Each pillar is made of many needs — sleep, food, safety, connection, purpose and more. Neglect any one and the whole life wobbles.

For decades medicine and wellness treated them separately. The cutting edge is different. Psycho-neuro-immuno-endocrinology studies the links and backs up what ancient traditions long suggested: everything is interconnected. That’s why holistic work pairs hard data with age-old practices so you can stop patching problems and build lasting wellbeing.
